Salute to Ag Day a Success
Salute to Agriculture Day tailgate was held on Saturday, November 13, 2010. Approximately 700 alumni and friends joined us to celebrate agriculture!
Representatives from the College of ACES, Illinois Department of Agriculture, Illinois State FFA officers, and 4-H Leadership Team members were involved in the program. A live auction was held to raise money for the 4-H and FFA Foundations, and the Orion Samuelson Scholarship Program.
Orion Samuelson was recognized for his long time support of the University of Illinois, College of ACES and University of Illinois Extension and 4-H Programs by President Michael Hogan who bestowed upon him the Presidential Award and Medallion. given to recognize individuals whose support and good work have brought distinction to the University. Only a handful have been awarded since former President Stan Ikenberry created the honor more than two decades ago, and past winners include heads of corporations and heads of state.
