LA Gourmet - District 6 Alumni Event
Jerry Wallace, District 6 Director, hosted the district alumni event at LA Gourmet in Champaign. Over 100 alumni and friends joined in Illini spirit as we learned from Dr. Bob Skirvin about different apple varieties and tasted over 30 different kinds of apples. Lauren and Annie Murray, owners of LA Gourmet, hosted a wonderful cocktail hour and dinner at their family farm and shared with us the success of their 2 year catering business and how it began. Dean Robert Easter provided an update on the College of ACES and the Brillant Futures campaign. Student Advancement Committee members Paul Kirbach, Reid Thompson and Brittany Powers shared about their college expereinces within ACES and beyond. The College of ACES Alumni Association also recongized Lauren and Annie as two of our recipeints this year for the ACES Young Alumni Award. It was a wonderful evening enjoyed by all who attended.
